A tree took out the antenna on my 95 Eurovan. This replacement was a perfect fit and easy to install. I did not use the cable since the old cable was fine.

Part came in timely. Installed and worked well. Had to pull antenna cable to make it fit, and worked well.

This antenna is not an exact fit to the original. While the mast is very similar, the cable connection is completely different. The original antenna has a short cable segment that fits into the mast and connects to the cable running to the radio. The replacement has a single cable that you are expected to connect directly to the radio.....bypassing the original cables. I was not able to remove my radio to access the antenna cable connection, so I had to stretch the existing cable to make a connection with the new mast. It was a very frustrating experience, took me half a day to re-route the existing cable so I had enough slack to reach the new mast and even then, it was a very tight fit. So, the antenna mast is great, the cable is fine if you can access the back of the radio. If you can't reach the back of the radio, then you will struggle like I did. EuroCampers Reply. Yes, this antenna is not exactly the same, but it is designed to fit only the EuroVan and is from the original manufacture. The original part is discontinued and the manufacture will no longer make it. This new version replaces the original perfectly and only requires you to to run the cable to your radio.

I agree with the other reviewer. The Antenna is a match, the cabling is a problem. My solution was to disconnect the cable from the old antenna and use it with the new one. This was a pain, but alleviated the need to go through the firewall and reroute the wire to the radio. Also, while it is true that the part has been discontinued, my VW dealer did have a replacement aftermarket antenna that did have the correct wiring harness. However, it was $25.00 more than this one. Considering the hassle of the cable harness, it is an option.

Highly recommendanntenna for the 2001 EV. Came quicky, installation was fairly easy using the supplied connectors and original cabeling behind the dash.

The antenna works great, the installation instructions were very clear and for me absolutely necessary. BUT...the EV's previous owner had installed a Blauphunkt (sp?) radio, and the socket for the antenna cord plug was far too small. No replacements available in the area (Los Angeles!) even at Radio Shack. I had to switch the plug from the old cord to the new cord, prying apart tiny prongs, etc., a task which took about as long as the entire rest of the job. BUT, the antenna works great! If alternate plugs or adaptor plugs were automatically included for - say - an additional $5-10, this problem could be solved. Note from EuroCampers.com - Easiest way to replace your antenna is to unscrew the old cable at the antenna end and screw it on to your new antenna. The new version doesn't have the little pigtail, but the connector is the same and there is enough slack to just screw the old cable on. Otherwise adapters are available on Amazon and ebay to convert the VW style plug to the standard socket.

My order was not right with one original that came from VW in Germany and look alike but when I removed the original one saw the end connection it is solid and not screw in cable at end and I end up wasting extra $ & time to have cut out the original cable and attached to the new one so I can have a good signal coming in. the cable does have any screw at one end it comes with antenna it self. (Note from EuroCampers: I'm not sure why you would remove the original cable when you can just attach the cable to the screw connector on our antenna. The only difference between our antenna and the VW original is the new version does not have the short cable attached. It does though have the same screw connector where you can attach your original cable. VW discontinued the original and the OEM manufacture Hirschmann, makes this replacement that matches the original exactly with the exception of the short cable.)

This item fit perfectly and works great! Detailed instructions were easy to follow and completed the job quickly.

Really happy to find this. Easy for my husband to install in our 2001 EuroVan MV.

I had the same issues as others in that the cable from the new antenna does not match up with the existing cable from the car stereo. My local car stereo shop tells me there is no existing adapter made. I am now trying to pull any slack from the existing cable through the wall to reach the new antenna. Hope it works.
