This is a direct-fit item specifically for Sprinter models that did not come from the factory with this option. Made by Vantech USA. Includes both driver and passenger side rails and allows for installation of our roof rack systems, and other roof-mounted accessories.

The use of automotive-grade silicone sealant around all openings and fasteners is highly recommended. Installation of Fiamma F65S/F80S mounting brackets will require modifications for the brackets and/or the roof tracks. Use of the Mercedes OEM rails is recommended if you plan to install an awning. OEM rails are available at your Mercedes dealer.

pre drilled holes were not countersunk

This track system was easy enough to install, the holes lined up with the factory holes in van roof fine and is a good quality build. One complaint is that the holes were not countersunk and pan head bolts were provided. I discovered after I installed the rails, that the photos on vantechs website show countersunk holes with flat head bolts. Since it came from the manufacturer without countersunk holes and pan head bolts I assumed that it would not be a problem. I attempted to install a Topper rack and the sliders that came with the rack would not slide down the track because the bolt heads interfered with the sliding bar. This is a huge inconvenience, I have ordered sliders from Eurocampers website to see if they are a lower profile. If they are not I will have to remove the bolts to install the sliders on the track.

Everything came as described and was well packaged. I had a few issues with mounting on my 2019 144 high-roof. When mounted using just the factory bolts, the rear rail does not fit flush with the rear of the van and is suspended by about 1/4-1/2" when the factory mounting bolts are used. I drilled the additional mounting holes for the "optional" aft bolts and it pulled things into place, but it seemed a bit sketchy to have to pull things into shape like this. The metal clips that are provided for aligning the front and rear rails weren't up to the task and wouldn't hold the rails in alignment. So, I had to drill addition bolt holes near the front of the rear rails where the two rails meet. There's plenty of clearance for these additional holes so it's not a difficult task, but definitely one I'd recommend. I also used some bits of butyl tape around the bolts to ensure a rain seal since I don't trust just the weather strip.

Arrived as advertised. Holes lined up very well, but the most forward and aft hole on each side of rail pair would have to be drilled. No problem there. This is a one man job due to the fact that the rails are threaded for the button head screws. You tighten the screw in the rail first then install the rail. The only thing I did was deburr the inside of the rail where the screws goes and then install silicone under each head of the screw before tightening to rail. Happy with the results. Make sure that what you order to go on the rails uses that type of rail. ie: Fiamma Awning system

They went on pretty easily, plastic knock outs matched perfectly.. time will tell if they are waterproof.

Great product

Pretty straight forward install. Holes line up great with OEM holes. Will need two people to tighten screws. It would be nice if there were tourqe lb.specs. I went out and purchased slightly bigger washers to better distribute the force of the nut. The smaller washers began to bend a bit. Not a big deal I'm sure. Did a water test with garden hose and everything looks good. Saved allot of money doing it myself.
