German brand air filter

I'm glad I got "German brand". I got a Chinese one last time and returned it for "German" when I saw China on the box. But after receiving this latest one, I see I got the one "without foam layer recommended by Dodge". I didn't see that when ordering. So I may return it for the one with foam. But why do Dodge recommend it? I'm sure they make more $ on it. I don't live in west Texas. Do I really need it? What does Daimler say?
