Ladder attaches securely and easily with supplied hardware. Available in black or white finish. Ladder is secured with 5/16" bolts and 1" washers with nylon locking nuts. Drilling required.

Q: Do you need access from inside the door to bolt or onto the door itself?

A: Yes, to bolt the ladder to the door, you would need to remove the bottom panel. On some vehicles, the top mounts may be accessible without removing panels. You may also be able to use threaded inserts to mount the ladder, but the inserts are not included and not detailed in the instructions.

Q: On a hightop Ram Promaster 3500 do any of the rungs block the license plate if mounted on the driver side rear door? Or, if mounted on the passenger side rear door do any rungs block access to the door handle?

A: If you mount the ladder over the license plate, then you will block the plate from viewing from angles other than straight on. You may never have an issue with law enforcement, but they could cite you for this. The door handle would not be an issue. You can mount the ladder to avoid blocking it, or there is room between the ladder and the handle.

Q: Do the bottom ends of the rails sit on the back bumper or do the extend past the bumper toward the ground? What is the distance from the bottom rung to the bottom ends of the rails?

A: The ladder is 83" and can be shortened if needed. It is adjustable in where you mount it, so you can locate it above the bumper.

Q: If the weight limit on the ladder is 250 pounds, could I hang a 60 pound electric bike on the ladder?

A: We do not recommend using a ladder as a cargo rack. You can check with your vehicle manufacture and see what they may recommend regarding carrying weight on your rear door. The ladder is designed to be used to access the roof with the rear door latched.

Q: Is the silver option bare aluminum, not a paint that could chip off, and are the black and white's both powder coated?

A: Silver or black anodizing is an electrochemical process that converts the metal surface into a decorative, durable, corrosion-resistant, anodic oxide finish.

White finish is powdercoated.

Q: 1. Does this ladder fit to the rear door, so the door could still be opened? 2. Does this ladder fit to a Ford Transit passenger van with rear windows, i.e. the weight on the top brackets will not crack/damage the window glasses? Thank you.

A: Door will still open, but only use ladder with door closed, Will not break window if installed correctly.
