Scopema Swivel Seat Base for the 2015 to 2026 Ford Transit
A swivel turns your Transit cab seat into part of the living space. Rotate the seat to face the back of the van and a narrow galley suddenly feels like a room, with two more places to sit. This is the newest generation Scopema adapter, built specifically for the Transit rather than adapted from a generic plate.
It is one of the lowest profile swivels available: it raises the seat by only 23 mm, about 7/8 of an inch, so it has little impact on headroom and your driving position. The swivel rotates 180 degrees. The plates are steel and pull-tested to both United States and Canadian occupant restraint standards.
EuroCampers has been importing European van and camper parts since 1997, and selling swivels for more than 25 of those years. We are an official North American Scopema distributor, we bring these in direct from the factory in France, and they ship to you from our warehouse near St. Louis, Missouri.
Which side do I need?
Swivels are side specific and are sold individually. There are three options in the drop down menu above: passenger side, driver side for vans with an electronic parking brake, and driver side for vans with a manual parking brake, which includes the brake adapter you need. If you want both cab seats to rotate, order one driver side and one passenger side.

Your van and the seat you want to rotate
Choose this option
What comes in the box
The seat on the right side of the van, next to the sliding door
Passenger Side Swivel Adapter
Swivel and all mounting hardware. No brake adapter involved. This is usually the easier side to install.
The seat behind the steering wheel, and you set your parking brake with a switch or button you press
Driver Side for models with Electronic Parking Brake
Swivel and all mounting hardware. No brake adapter needed on these vans.
The seat behind the steering wheel, and you set your parking brake with a lever you pull up by hand
Driver Side for models with Manual Parking Brake
Swivel, all mounting hardware, and the Scopema parking brake adapter included. This option costs $38 more because the adapter is in the box.
Check your parking brake before you choose a driver side option
If you set the parking brake by pulling up a lever, choose the manual parking brake option. The swivel will not clear the parking brake without a brake adapter. That adapter is included in the box with that option, so there is nothing else to add to your cart. If you set the parking brake by pressing a switch or button, choose the electronic parking brake option. The passenger side is the same on every van. If you are not sure which brake you have, call us at 636-337-7700 .
Fitment: what fits, what does not, and what to check
This is the information customers ask us about most. Please read the "not compatible" row before ordering.
Ford Transit swivel compatibility
Vehicles that fit
2015 through 2026 Ford Transit vans with the factory seat base and a factory bucket seat. Every wheelbase and every roof height, low, medium, and high. The roof and wheelbase do not affect swivel fitment. You will see this swivel listed elsewhere as fitting "2013 and newer." That date refers to the European Transit launch. North American Transit production started with the 2015 model year, so 2015 is the correct first year for a van sold here.
Not compatible with
The 10-way powered seat option. Scopema has not approved this swivel for the 10-way powered seat base, and no spacer, shim, or washer stack changes that. See the question about powered seats below before you order.
Works with these seat options
Heated seats, seat side airbags, and under seat batteries are all compatible. An under seat heater may be compatible; contact us with your configuration and we will help you check.
Plan on this during installation
The wiring harness underneath the driver side seat may need to be rerouted.
The rear of the seat tracks may need slight trimming so the seat clears the door trim when rotating with the doors closed.
On a van with a manual parking brake lever, the brake adapter goes on first, before the swivel. It is included in the box with that option.
How it rotates
Full 180 degrees. Because the swivel is so low profile, it works best when you rotate the seat while you are not sitting in it.
Locking and driving
By design, the swivel locks only in the forward facing position. The seat must be locked forward facing any time the vehicle is in motion. Never occupy a rotated seat while driving.

Safety and certification
A swivel sits between your seat and the seat base, in the load path of your seat belt. That is not a place to save money on an unbranded part. Scopema swivels are physically pull-tested, not simply calculated:
Pull-tested to both United States and Canadian safety standards
Meets FMVSS and CMVSS 207 and 210, the seat anchorage and seat belt anchorage standards
TÜV approved
Locks in the forward facing position, which is the only position to be occupied while the vehicle is in motion
If you want the detail behind those standards, we wrote it up: what FMVSS, CMVSS 207 and 210, and TUV approval actually mean for a swivel seat base .
Installation
Every swivel ships with printed instructions and all of the hardware you need. Installation is a bolt-in job with hand tools, and it involves removing the seat from the van, so a second set of hands makes it much easier. Read the "plan on this during installation" row above before you start, and torque all fasteners to the values given in the instructions.

Why buy your swivel from EuroCampers
Buying from the official North American Scopema distributor matters, and on a swivel it matters more than most parts. A swivel sits in the load path of your seat belt. We import these ourselves, directly from the factory in France, so you get genuine Scopema hardware, not a knock-off.
If anything ever goes wrong, we handle it here in the United States, from our warehouse near St. Louis. You are not shipping a 22 pound steel part across a border and waiting on customs to settle a warranty claim.
Family owned since 1997, and we have been fitting swivels for more than 25 of those years. Reach a human Monday through Friday, 9 to 5 Central at 636-337-7700 or [email protected] .
Van specialists since 1997. EuroCampers started by importing German side tents, swivels and other accessories for VW Buses, Vanagons, and EuroVans. Swivels are not a sideline for us.

Common questions
Select a question to see the answer.
Do I need one swivel or two?
One per seat. Swivels are side specific, so if you want both cab seats to rotate, order one driver side and one passenger side.
Will this raise my seat too much?
This is one of the lowest profile swivels made. It adds 23 mm, about 7/8 of an inch. Most people do not notice a difference in driving position, and it is the reason we sell this design rather than a taller one.
Can I rotate the seat while I am sitting in it?
It works best when you rotate it while not seated. That is a direct trade-off of the ultra-low profile design.
Which driver side option do I choose?
It depends on how you set your parking brake. If you pull up a lever by hand, choose the manual parking brake option. It includes the brake adapter you need, already in the box. If you press a switch or button, choose the electronic parking brake option. Order the wrong one by mistake? Call us before it ships and we will swap it.
Will it work with my heated seats, airbags, or under seat battery?
Yes to all three. Heated seats, seat side airbags, and under seat batteries are compatible. An under seat heater may be compatible, so contact us with your setup if you have one.
I have power seats. Will this fit?
Not the 10-way powered option. Scopema has not approved this swivel for that seat base. If you are not sure which seat you have, call us and we will work it out with you in a couple of minutes.
Can I make this work on a powered seat with a spacer or washers?
We understand the appeal, and our answer is no, with a reason worth reading.
Clearing the power mechanism means adding height underneath the swivel, either with a spacer or by stacking washers. That changes the mounting geometry that Scopema physically pull-tested. The FMVSS and CMVSS 207 and 210 approval and the TÜV approval apply to the swivel installed the way it was tested. Lift it on spacers and you are no longer running the configuration that passed. Our warranty does not cover a modified installation either.
So we will not sell you a kit to do it. We would rather lose the sale than put a seat belt anchorage in your van that we cannot stand behind. If another seller offers you a spacer kit to fit a swivel to a powered seat, ask them for the pull test report covering that exact configuration with the spacer installed. That is the only thing that would make it approved, and it is a fair question to ask about a part that carries your seat belt load.
Will I have to cut anything?
Possibly a little. Some vans need slight trimming at the rear of the seat tracks so the seat clears the door trim when rotating with the doors closed. On the driver side you may also need to reroute the wiring harness under the seat and this requires trimming the plastic cover between the seat and battery. Neither is difficult, but plan for it.
Is it safe to drive with a swivel installed?
Yes. The swivel locks in the forward facing position and meets FMVSS and CMVSS 207 and 210. The seat must be locked forward facing whenever the vehicle is in motion, and a rotated seat must never be occupied while driving.
My van is a 2025 or a 2026. Does this still fit?
Yes. This swivel covers 2015 through 2026 Ford Transit vans with the factory seat base, including the 2025 and 2026 model years. We keep this fitment range current because we are the importer and we see the changes first.
I have a 2013 or 2014 Transit. Will this fit?
If your van was sold in North America, you almost certainly have a 2015 or newer. The current Transit went on sale here as a 2015 model. Listings that say "2013 and newer" are referring to the European launch date. If you have an earlier van or one imported from overseas, call us before ordering and we will identify the right part.
Does my roof height or wheelbase matter?
No. This swivel fits every Transit wheelbase and every roof height, low, medium, and high. The swivel mounts between the factory seat base and the seat, so nothing above the cab floor affects it. What matters is your model year, your seat type, and your parking brake style.
How do I know a swivel has actually been crash tested?
Ask for the report. Any swivel seller can write "heavy duty" or "safety tested" on a page. A swivel that has genuinely been through the process can produce a specific document: a pull test to FMVSS and CMVSS 207 and 210, or a TUV approval covering the actual manufacturing facility. Scopema can, and we will send you the paperwork if you want to read it. If a seller cannot name the standard and produce the report, treat the claim as marketing. This part carries your seat belt load in a collision.
Why buy from an authorized distributor instead of a marketplace listing?
Swivel bases show up on marketplace sites at tempting prices, sometimes as unbranded plates and sometimes with no traceable manufacturer at all. A swivel carries your seat belt load. Buying from the authorized distributor means the part is genuine Scopema, it is covered by the factory warranty we administer here in the United States, and the instructions in the box match the part in the box. If something is wrong, you call us and we fix it.
