F45S bracket for VW Eurovan Weekender

I had the Fiamma f35 pro brackets installed on my 2002 VW Eurovan weekender. I upgraded to the F45S and called Fiamma to see if F45S rackets fitted the same 3 whole pattern as the F35pro. They confirmed, so I purchased the brackets from eurocampers. Sure enough the whole aligned perfectly and I didn't have to make any adjustments. The install took maybe 45 minutes flawlessly. the brackets are sturdy, but do sit a bit higher than the F35pro brackets. To complete the install of the awning, i did have to drill holes from the bottom of the brackets and then awning to install the nut and bolt. That was the only tricky part of the installation.

Q: When the brackets are installed and the awning hooked up does the awning stay in place when driving or does it have to come off the van and stored when driving?

A: These brackets require drilling and the brackets would be considered permanent. Fiamma awnings can be removed from the brackets, but can be left attached while traveling

Q: Hello, I just bought a 2001 Eurovan Camper and it has a Eurovan name on the Awning. So after doing research I believe it's an old Carefree manual unit (length 9'. Can I use the same holes and install the Fiamma F45s 10' unit. Trying to get info but nothing on the Net to give me exact details. Thanks Glenn 714-612-0663

A: If you still have the original Carefree brackets installed, you can bolt the F45S wall brackets to these. The wall mount brackets are included with the F45S. The spacing of your brackets may require you to use the F45S 3m awning.,

Q: Will this Fit 1995 vW Eurovan and F45S 300. Also, do you sell just the center plate that goes on bracket to make it upright? I already have brackets on van but missing that small center plate.

A: You can download the installation sheet from the product page which shows all the parts and hardware included. Fiamma recommends Sikaflex sealant which is not included.

A: Brackets are installed using threaded inserts. Often called plus nuts. Harbor Freight and others sell a kit with the tool and several sizes of inserts. Practice using the tool on sheet metal before attempting the install.

A: We have no information on a Thule awning, but perhaps you could ask Thule? A 3m Fiamma F45S awning weighs 51 pounds. You may be able to use these brackets if the weight of your awning does not exceed this.
